Delete Your Data

KnotweediD is provided by Southwest Knotweed Ltd. This page explains how to permanently delete the data associated with your use of the KnotweediD app. You don't need an account to use KnotweediD, so most of your information already lives on your own device and never reaches us.

The short version

Delete your data in the app

1. Open KnotweediD.
2. Go to Settings.
3. Tap Delete my data, then confirm Delete everything.

This immediately erases any Confirmed Report cases and uploaded photos from our servers, and wipes the check history, saved photos and map markers stored on your device. Nothing is kept in an archive afterwards.

If you have uninstalled the app

If the app is no longer installed, email contact@knotweedidentification.co.uk with the subject "Delete my data". Include the case reference shown on your report (for example KD-1042), or enough detail for us to identify your records, such as the date and property of a Confirmed Report. We will delete any data we hold and confirm by reply.

What is deleted

• Photos you uploaded for identification or for a Confirmed Report
• Confirmed Report cases and surveyor records held on our servers
• Your notification device token, if you enabled notifications
• Your on-device check history, saved photos and map markers

What is kept, and for how long

• We do not require an account, so we hold no name, email or password unless you have contacted us directly.
• We never see or store your card details. Payments are handled entirely by Apple or Google.
• Records we are legally required to keep, such as proof of transactions for tax purposes, are retained for the period required by UK law (financial records are typically kept for 6 years) and are then deleted.
• Verified deletion requests are actioned within 30 days.
