The experts behind KnotweediD
KnotweediD brings professional Japanese knotweed identification to the whole of the UK - a clear photo verdict in seconds, backed when it counts by PCA CSJK accredited surveyors who have worked in invasive-weed control since 2011.
Why we built KnotweediD
Japanese knotweed causes far more worry than it needs to. Most people who spot a suspicious plant just want a calm, honest answer: is it knotweed or not, and what should I actually do? Too often they meet either scaremongering or the cost of a full survey before they even know whether they have a problem.
We built KnotweediD to change that - a fast, affordable first check anyone can do from a photo, with the option to have a qualified surveyor confirm it in writing for a sale, mortgage or simple peace of mind. Reassurance first, professional expertise on tap.
Built on real surveying experience
Founded in 2011, our original vision - to offer the best professional invasive-weed management to residential and commercial customers - still inspires everything we do. Our on-the-ground survey teams are based in the South West, but KnotweediD is designed for the whole of the UK: because a first-check verdict and a Confirmed Report are made from your photos, you get a qualified opinion wherever in the country you are.
We have evolved alongside the invasive-weed control industry, with the systems in place to produce comprehensive survey reports and site records, and we are always looking at ways to work smarter so we get the result right every time. What we are proudest of, though, is our reputation for genuine customer service, expertise and professionalism. We are PCA registered and hold the relevant industry accreditations, so you can be confident our work meets the best standard of professional practice.
Meet our accredited surveyors
Every Confirmed Report and iD Pro case is personally reviewed by a surveyor holding the Property Care Association's Certificated Surveyor in Japanese Knotweed (CSJK) qualification:

What does "PCA CSJK accredited" mean?
Our surveyors are accredited members of the Property Care Association, the UK trade body for invasive weed control. Visit property-care.org →
The Property Care Association (PCA) is the recognised UK trade body for the invasive-weed and property-care industry. Its Certificated Surveyor in Japanese Knotweed (CSJK) qualification is the benchmark that lenders, surveyors and solicitors look for when knotweed affects a property.
It matters because a CSJK-accredited surveyor's confirmation is the kind of professional evidence that:
- lenders and mortgage valuers will accept as part of a risk assessment;
- solicitors and buyers trust during a sale or a boundary dispute;
- underpins a credible treatment plan and insurance-backed guarantee.
In short, it is the difference between "an app said so" and a documented opinion from a qualified professional.
